CERN libraries at ECDF

I compiled and installed the CERN libraries at ECDF. Nothing special here, the instructions from Harold Vogt CERNLIB 2005 (64 bit). They are located at /export/work/ppe/ilc/cern/cernlib/2005/lib. More details on the process are found on my ilc-wiki-page.

In addition to the CERN libraries, I have also installed GSL v.18, CLHEP 2.0.3.1 and (ROOT).

ECDF and the ILC software

In my role of one of the ecdf(*)-beta-tester, I have been trying to install the necessary components for the ILC software. Remember that the ECDF is the Edinburgh Computing and Data Facility) and it is a valuable computing resource for our group. It is their policy that group specific software should be installed under /exports/work/ppe. I have created there three main directories: ilc, lhcb, sw. The first two are self explanatory: they are the place to put all experiment related software. In addition sw could be seen as the generic and common software container, for instance Root. The machines at ECDF run Scientific Linux 4 and the architecture is 64-bits. We should agree what software is needed for us to run ILC studies and analyses.
